Weekly Challenge #296: "UMT - Moowa by Anya Ipsen, CZT"

As the first Monday of every month on the divas'blog is a Use My Tangle Challenge, where the challenge of the week is to use a tangle created by one of us! This week we have to use MOOWA, tangle proposed by Anya Ipsen. You can find the step out's for this tangle HERE.

At first this tangle evoques me High surging waves but finally in this tile my interpretation is rather vegetal, an imaginary garden ... with Rixty, Tipple, Zinger.

Thank you very much for visiting my blog !

Weekly Challenge #295: "Reticula/Fragment part 2"

This week the challenge is again about Reticula and fragments. As another step we have to choose a design that is asymmetrical. Then if we alternate our design inside the grid we have drawn, we will create another more complex pattern!

That is my grid this week. It is the design made by the tiles in my kitchen:

This grid needs two fragments one having the shape of a double-pointed arrow the other the shape of a square.

For my first drawing i use  this  fragment:

That is the intermediate step:

The square fragment :

and the final tile :

I tried another combination of fragments :

Final Tile

My favorite tile is the second ! and you?

As i wrote  past week, i bought the book of Rick and Maria "Zentangle PRIMER vol 1" and i received it saturday by mail. i'm very happy, it's very interesting for me. I have already learned a lot of new knowledge that I think, will make me progress.

Thank you very much for your comment. Have a good week end !

Weekly Challenge #294: Reticula/Fragment Beginning

"Reticula and Fragments" is the theme of this new challenge. Rick and Maria introduced these two terms in their new book Zentangle Primer Volume 1.

Laura in her blog explains it like that :
"Reticula is the term for a grid, but not just the square grid like the checkerboard, but an encompassing term for all the zentangle grids. ... So with Reticula being the term for grids, fragments, then, are the pattern drawn inside each square or facet of the grid. "

I have not yet read this book but it made me want to buy it. I'm waiting for it.

Here is a quite complicated grid that I discovered on a ceramic :

the fragment i used:

and the final work:

Weekly Challenge #293: "Keeko, you know!"

This week, Challenge is to use the tangle "Keeko". Laura on her blog drew a monotangle but It was not compulsory. I preferred to integrate this motif in a more diversified design. I'm not very dexterous for this tangle even if it seems simple.

I wanted to draw curves!
J'avais envie de faire des courbes !

Have a good week !

Weekly Challenge #292: "UMT - EAXY by Nadine Roller, CZT

The first Monday of every month is a Use My Tangle Challenge, where the challenge of the week is to use a tangle created by one of us! This week's Tangle is courtesy of Nadine Roller, a CZT from Germany.
It's EAXY tangle that You can find the step outs here.

It was for me  difficult to draw because it was so very geometric! There are two tests with colors in the first tile and with double border in the second.
Fill with colors completely changed the appearence of this tangle.

On the second tile I used it a lot with a single row, it was much easier!

Have a great weekend !

Weekly Challenge #291: "Happy Halloween!"

This week's challenge is to create a Halloween themed tile. "If that's not something we take part in or we're into, we can also do a white on black tile" specify Laura on her Diva's Blog.

I chose to draw on a black background, but I have difficulty with white gel pens. Gel does not apply easily and pens dry up very quickly. For shading I used a white color pencil.

This pumpkin is ready for Cinderella's carriage !

Have a great week!

Weekly Challenge #284: "Monotangle to Tripoli"

A monotangle is a term to define a tile that is done using ONLY ONE TANGLE and/or it's variations/tanglations.

This week's challenge is to create a tile using ONLY the tangle Tripoli.
It's a very interisting tangle with many variations. I tried several tanglations with only triangles. It's a bit loaded but never mind.

Have a nice week.

Weekly Challenge #283: "UMT: Centre Square by Aleesha Sattva CZT"

Here we are, the first Monday of the month so that means Use My Tangle (UMT) where we try our hand at a tangle proposed by one participant who created it.
This week's UMT is a grid based tangle by Aleesha! You can see the step outs for her tangle here.

I published my tile late because right now I have little time to draw. I used this tangle only at the bottom left and top right on small areas so as not to darken the tile.

Have a nice Week end.

Bon week end

Weekly Challenge #275: "Guest Post: Give Peace a Chance - Suzanne Fluhr, CZT"

This week the challenge is proposed to us by Suzanne Fluhr, CZT because Laura is on vacation. We have to express "Give Peace a Chance" through art, using Zentangle and Zentangle Inspired Art techniques.

I just wrote "Peace" because i can't draw a dave. It's too difficult for me !

I add a message today July 15 because I learned just after publishing this post the horrible attentt that killed over 80 people in France during our National Day, July 14:
PEACE ... I write its name ! Enormous sadness!

Thank you very much for your comments. Have a good weekend !

Weekly Challenge #274: "My Country 'Tis of Thee"

This week on Diva's Blog the challenge is: " to show your countries colours! Create a tile inspired by the country where you live! ".

currently in France a Football Championship, "l'Euro", takes place. That is why I chose to draw a football in the colors of France.

Have a good week !

Weekly Challenge #273: "Tangle Remix"

This week The DIVA's challenge is to go back into our stash of tiles and find one that we could spruce up or remix and give it a shiny fresh coat of Pigma Micron!
It was rather difficult for me because most of my tiles are too busy and it's difficult to clear the extra. I had one that I had copied before completing it. But I'm not sure that the remix had upgrade it !

Have a good week.

Two weeks ago, weekly challenge was to use a new tangle named "Skye" drawn by Margaret BREWNER.

Very late I publish today three tiles with this tangle. I enjoyed discovering this new pattern even if I found it difficult at first. For my last tile I used a black background. it was long since I had not.

Weekly Challenge #268: "A bit-o-black"

On Diva's blog this week's Challenge is to add a bit of black. Just add a bit more black to our tangles in a way we wouldn't normally do.

I must admit that I often use black in my tiles. I like contrasts.

Here is my tile for this challenge:

This is a tile I drew two weeks ago, a lot of black too !

Thank you for your comments.

Weekly Challenge #264: "String Theory: String into Spring"

This week's challenge on Diva's blog is to create a Spring-like string.
At first I thought, 'spring' as season, but it was 'spring' that makes 'Boooiiiing!

Here is my string.

Thank you for your comments.

Weekly Challenge #262: "UMT - Fassett by Lynn Mead"

Here we are, the first Monday of the month so that means Use My Tangle (UMT) where we have to try a ZENTANGLE proposed by one of us.
This month's tangle is called FASSETT and was created by Lynn Mead.  The step outs can be found here.

Here's what I've drawn Wednesday. I'm late to publish it but it does not matter. . Probably  I won't have comment but it's for fun.
